Ques (1-5) Study the following graph carefully to answer these questions?
Details about the distribution of employees and expenditure of an organization
          (Distributed Proportionately across the departments)
                   Annual Expenditure on Different items
Total Expenditure = Rs. 12 Crores

                       Department-wise distribution of employees
Total number of employees = 1200

1. What was the total expenditure on accounts department?
no. of employees in Account = 1200*14/100 = 168
Total Expenditure on accounts department = 120000000*168/1200 =16.8 millions.(1 core 68 lack 1,68,00,000)

2. What was per employee expenditure on medical?
Annual Expenditure on medical = Rs 120000000*13/100 = Rs. 15600000
Per employee expenditure on medical = 15600000/1200= Rs . 13000
3. What was the total expenditure on salary of employees in marketing department?
Annual Expenditure on Salary = Rs 120000000*30/100 = Rs. 36000000
no. of employees in Marketing = 1200*7/100 = 204
total expenditure on salary of employees in marketting Department = 36000000/1200*204 = 6.12 millions

4.What was the amount spent on eletricity?
Amount spent on electricity = 120000000*11/100 = Rs. 132 lakhs.
5. what was the expenditure on telephone for employees in computer department?
11.52 lakhs

6. A letter is randomly taken from English alphabets. What is the probability that the letter selected is not
 a vowel?
Total alphbets = 26
vowels = 5 .
Alphabets which are not vowels = 26-5 = 21
So Required probability = 21/26

7.  The probability A getting a job is 1/5 and that of B is 1/7 . What is the probability that only one of them gets a job?
First, A getting a job is 1/5 ,Not Getting Job=1-1/5=4/5
First, A getting a job is 1/7 ,Not Getting Job=1-1/7=6/7

Required Probability = 1/5*6/7+ 1/7*4/5= 6/35+4/35= 2/7

8. Tickets numbered 1 to 20 are mixed up and then a ticket is drawn at random. What is the probability'
that the ticket drawn has a number which is a multiple of 3 or 5?
(B)Total number of tickets = 20
To get a multiple of 3 , the favorable cases are 3,9,6,12,15,18.
Number of ways in which we get a multiple of 3 = 6
P(Multiple of 3)= 6/20
smae as,
P(multiple of 5) = 4/20
There are some cases where we get multiple of 3 and 5. the favorable case for this is 15
so P(Multiple of 3 & 5) = 1/20
So required Probability = 6/20+4/20-1/20 = 9/20

9.  Two cards are drawn together from a pack of 52 cards. The probability that one is a club and one is
 a diamond?
Required Probability = (13c1* 13c1)/ 52c2 =(13*13)/(52*51/2*1)  13/102

10 . A bag contains 4 black, 5 yellow and 6 green balls. Three balls are drawn at random from the bag.
What is the probability that all of them are yellow?
Total number of balls = 4 + 5 + 6 = 15
5 yellow balls
Required Probability = 5c3/15c3 =   ( 5*4*3/3*2*1)/(15*14*13/3*2*1)= 2/91
