Verbs’ is the most easy grammar topic and the most interesting as well! After all who does not like a bit of action!

I’m sure every one of you is an expert at identifying the verb in any given sentence; the problem arises when identifying errors in a sentence when coupled with tenses!

From the exam point of view, verbs are tested on in sentence corrections/error detection; but verbs are the life line of any sentence as verbs show the happening of anything – it is the action grammar.

There are types of verbs and rules of verbs and they are all confusing and not very interesting; we will instead revise and rehash verbs along with tenses and see if at the end of this session everything is easy and everything makes sense.

So, today I’ll be doing verbs along with tenses, and your objective will be to learn to identify the tenses and how the verbs are used along with them.

Noun is a name of a person, thing, place or action.

Possessive noun shows ownership of one noun on another by adding "an apostrophe" and a "s".

Possessive noun

What is a noun? A noun is any word that names a person, a place or a thing. Thus, Noun = name of person, place or a thing. Simple as that!

There are two broad types of nouns, namely countable (which can be counted) and uncountable noun (which cannot be counted).

A countable noun is again classified into Proper, Common and Collective nouns; whereas, Un-countable nouns are Material and Abstract nouns. Thus in total you’re going to learn about 5 different types of Nouns.

An Adverb a word which modifies a verb or an adjectives or another adverb.

There are many ways with which we can find out square of a number within seconds. Let’s see how we can find out square of a number faster using Vedic Mathematics (Nikhilam method)

Example 1: Find out the square of 12

Step 1
We need to take the nearest power of 10. So here 10 is the nearest power of 10 which we can take as our base. The deviation to the base = 12-10 = 2
(To find out the deviation, just remove the left most digit "1" and you will get it quickly)
Now the Left Hand Side of the answer (LHS) will be the sum of the number and deviation. Hence the Left Hand Side of the answer (LHS) = 12 + 2 = 14
Step 2
Our base is 10 which has a single zero. This means that our Right Hand Side of the answer (RHS) will have a single digit and that can be obtained by taking the square of the deviation.
Hence the Right Hand Side of the answer (RHS) = 2² = 4
Hence the answer  = 144

An independent, able and upright judiciary is the hallmark of a free democratic country. Therefore, the process of judicial appointments is of vital importance. At present, on account of the Supreme Court’s last advisory opinion, the role of the executive and its interference in the appointment of judges is minimal, which, in light of our previous experience, is most welcome. However, there is a strong demand for a National Judicial Commission on the ground of wider participation in the appointment process and for greater transparency. The composition, the role and the procedures of the proposed National Judicial Commission, must be clearly spelt out, lest it be a case of jumping from the frying-pan into the fi0

It is an instrument in writing containing an unconditional order, addressed to a banker, sign by the person who has deposited money with the banker, requiring him to pay on demand a certain sum of money only to or to the order of certain person or to the bearer of instrument."

Types of Cheque

1. Bearer Cheque or open Cheque
When the words "or bearer" appearing on the face of the cheque are not cancelled, the cheque is called a bearer cheque. The bearer cheque is payable to the person specified therein or to any other else who presents it to the bank for payment. However, such cheques are risky, this is because if such cheques are lost, the finder of the cheque can collect payment from the bank.

3. Crossed Cheque
Crossing of cheque means drawing two parallel lines on the face of the cheque with or without additional words like "& CO." or "Account Payee" or "Not Negotiable". A crossed cheque cannot be encashed at the cash counter of a bank but it can only be credited to the payee's account.

4. Ante-Dated Cheque
If a cheque bears a date earlier than the date on which it is presented to the bank, it is called as "anti-dated cheque". Such a cheque is valid upto three months from the date of the cheque.

5. Post-Dated Cheque
If a cheque bears a date which is yet to come (future date) then it is known as post-dated cheque. A post dated cheque cannot be honoured earlier than the date on the cheque.
